As the son of two renowned spellcasters and master alchemists, Eros has always had a heavy legacy to carry. However, the viera kit was born without a smidge of aether. No part of his being registered on an aetherometer, and such rendered his ability to use magicks impossible. During his early years, this led his parents to feel ashamed and disgraced of his existence. Whispers about them rippledthrough Sharlayan.Despite this, Eros has pushed onward. Under the supervision of a mentor, he honed skills both mechanical and of flesh and bone, being able to stitch and repair wounds with simply the dexterity of his fingers. But his mentor always thought he could do more, and that he could push himself farther and farther. Young Eros, still insecure from his lineage, took that to heart. Thus, he dove off into researching the applications of aether, how to weave it into devices and weapons made of steel. He crafted prosthetics for the people he helped heal. He developed milipreves that ran on a charge system that even he could use to cast spells from. The crux of his own research was when he thought to use ceruleum as a means to control magic. He delved into back alleys to conspire with Black Mages, an unsavory image that could have ruined his scholarly rapport. They taught him about runes and spells, ones he'd never heard of before. He took the knowledge and created an ink, ceruleum ink. Using this ink, he tattooed himself exactly how the Black Mages instructed. Most importantly of all - it worked. For the first time in his life, Eros could channel aether through his own two hands.

“Is this getting published in a paper somewhere…? …A what? If you say it’s okay… These tattoos, they’re arcane runes commonly used in black magic. When Dune picked me up at his student, the first hurdle we faced was my inability to manipulate aether. Of course, I couldn’t manipulate it without any of my own in the first place. Dune figured if we could augment my body to be a vessel akin to weaponry like milipreves… The ceruleum ink was my idea. I was reading about its use as a stable source of energy for medical equipment. So I blended some into a carrier solution and followed the arcane guidelines Dune had given me. To my surprise, it worked. Not in the way I thought it would work, though. The ceruleum is highly conductive to existing energy. Essentially, it can channel present aether in the surrounding area. To a degree it seems it can hold a charge… but it’s primary function isn't as a battery. Ultimately, it does exactly what I envisioned; it allows me to cast magic.”

→ Aetherometer

A device designed to measure aether within visible range. Eros uses it more often than others would, as he can’t detect any aether otherwise.

→ Insulin Multitool

A small, rectangular device that runs on charges of aether. It was designed by Eros to both check blood sugar levels and deliver the necessary amount of insulin all within one tool. Because it works aetherically, no needles are required.
